Hippo Trucks Limited ("Hippo", "we", "us") takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

We are Hippo Trucks Limited, registered in England & Wales (company number 16005263), VAT number GB481741872. Our head office is Unit 116, The Light Bulb, London SW18 4GQ. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.
2. What we collect
- Quote & booking details: name, email, phone number, moving-from and moving-to addresses, inventory, dates.
- Payment data: handled by our regulated payment processor — we never store card numbers.
- Communications: emails, WhatsApp, calls (calls may be recorded for training and quality — you'll be told at the start).
- Website data: anonymised analytics (see our Cookies Policy).
3. Why we use it
- To provide the quote or removal you asked for (contract).
- To keep you updated about your booking (contract).
- To meet legal, accounting and insurance obligations (legal obligation).
- To improve our service and, with consent only, send occasional marketing (legitimate interest / consent).
4. Who we share it with
Only where necessary: our insurers, our payment processor, our IT and CRM providers (all UK/EU based or covered by adequate safeguards), and — where legally required — regulators or law enforcement. We never sell your data to third parties.
5. How long we keep it
Quote enquiries: 12 months. Completed bookings and invoices: 7 years (HMRC requirement). Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and object to certain processing. Email privacy@hipporemovals.co.uk — we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Access is restricted on a need-to-know basis and logged. We conduct regular security reviews of our systems and suppliers.
8. Changes
We update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on this page and, where you have an active booking, notified by email.
