Hippo Removals is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
What we've done
- Semantic HTML with proper landmarks, headings and skip links.
- Sufficient colour contrast on all text and interactive elements.
- Full keyboard navigation across the site — no mouse required.
- Descriptive alt text on all informative images.
- Forms with visible labels, clear error messages and accessible focus states.
- Responsive layouts that reflow to 400% zoom without loss of content.
- Motion respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting.
Known limitations
We know a few areas still need work:
- Some third-party embeds (e.g. mapping widgets) are not fully accessible — we're actively replacing these.
- A small number of legacy PDF quote documents are not fully tagged. New quotes are all sent as accessible HTML.
